Guterres Refuses to Condemn Occupation's Army

Jun 19, 2021 05:11 pm

António Guterres, UN Secretary-General, decided not to include the Israeli occupation's army on the blacklist of countries and groups violating the rights of children in conflict areas although it was responsible for major violations against children in 2020 in the occupied West Bank, including the occupied Al-Quds, Gaza and the occupied lands of 1948.

The UN urged the occupation to review and strengthen measures to prevent any excessive use of force, and ensure its use when necessary only. It also urged for reducing the impact of its operations against the children and ensure accountability in cases of murdering and distorting children.

The UN-Secretary General's report asked the occupation to continue investigating any case of using live ammunition.
