PALM Strategic Initiatives Centre, which is part of Cinta Gaza Malaysia, in cooperation with the Female Student Council at the Islamic University of Gaza held a seminar on the job market and life after graduation. The target audience were 60 female students from the Faculties of Art and Education specialized in English language and translation.
Nour Elborno, translator at PALM Strategic Initiatives Centre and lecturer at IUG, delivered the seminar in English language at the Malaysian Business Incubator (MBI). She discussed with the students the importance of building their expertise and preparing their CVs for the job market before graduation, emphasizing the importance of ensuring Islamic Sharia approval of any work of translation they do since translation is key to all forms of sciences; the good and the bad.
Elborno said that the students were very interactive and even asked for a second session later on to discuss such topics in further detail.
Dr. Ibrahim Alzaeem, Director of PALM Strategic Initiatives Centre, welcomed the students and introduced to them the different activities and constituents of the institution, and said that the door would always be open for all learners.
Doha Habib, member in the Female Student Council at IUG, thanked the Centre for their hospitality and for providing an excellent environment for such meetings. She also expressed her hope for having future cooperation between the Council and the Centre in the near future.
