Banazir Abu Atwan, prisoner Al-Ghadanfar's sister, told Malaf Al-Yum (Today’s File) TV program that her brother's health condition was deteriorating after being on a hunger strike for 64 days protesting against his administrative detention in the occupation's prisons. His condition is now even more critical.
Abu Atwan said that the hospital where he is staying has warned against possible suffering from a heart attack or stroke which may lead to complete paralysis.
She said that her brother lost the ability to move and suffers from blurred vision; he cannot speak and still refuses to receive medical care.
After the decision to freeze his administrative detention, the hospital claimed that he would be treated like a civil patient; which means he could sign the discharge sheet himself, but she refused to allow such a procedure.
The Prisoner's Club said that if the occupation continues to reject the prisoner's demands despite his critical condition is like giving him a death sentence. There are no indications of having his demands answered either despite the continuous attempts to exercise pressure on the occupation to end his administrative detention.
Some Palestinian activists in the USA launched a solidarity campaign with the prisoner demanding the occupation's government in a petition with over 24,000 signatures to immediately release him and transfer him to a Palestinian hospital, as he wishes, to receive proper treatment.
