Ismael Haniya, Chief of Hamas' Political Bureau, sumbitted a petition to Moussa Faki, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, condemning granting the Israeli occupation the observer status at the Union.
Haniya said that such decision contradicts the values and principles upon which the Union was founded and described it as a huge blow in the face of the Palestinians.
He also said that the occupation will exploit such membership to cover its colonial plans and occupation of Palestine.
Haniya asked the Chairperson to abandon such decision.
