USAID Resumes Its Work in Palestine

Aug 05, 2021 09:33 am

The Palestinian Water Authority reported USAID's Office Director in Palestine Dana Mansuri's interview that the agency will resume its work in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip after 3 years of suspension (when former President Donald Trump had cut the US aids to the Palestinians).

Mazin Ghuneim, Director of the Palestinian Water Authority, welcomed the return of USAID's work in Palestine, and said that the water sector still needed water projects despite the large projects that had been implemented the past years.

USAID is one of the operating agencies of the US Secretary of State, and it executes projects funded by Washington in different countries.

Since the mid-nineties of the last century, the USAID funded projects in the occupied lands of 1967, mainly in the infrastructure sector at an annual average sum of $300 million.
