UN High Commissioner for Human Rights is Shocked by Israel’s Execution of a Young Man in Jerusalem

Dec 05, 2021 09:16 am

In a statement, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in the occupied Palestinian territories expressed its shock at what it described as the "extrajudicial execution" of young Mohamed Shawkat Saleem in the Bab al-Amoud area by the Israeli occupation forces.

The Office stated that extrajudicial killings were the result of the systematic use of lethal force against Palestinians by heavily armed and well-protected occupation soldiers and the almost total lack of accountability for the killing and injury of Palestinians by the occupying forces.

The Office referred to videos posted to the occupying police officer, shooting and injuring martyr Mohammed Abu Salima, before insisting that he was shot twice until he was martyred.

OIOS asked, "Will there be accountability in this case?" He says he'll keep an eye on the case.
