A young man was shot by metal bullets during confrontations between dozens of Palestinians and the occupation forces near the entrance to the town of Beta, south of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank.

The people of Beta stepped up their actions against the occupation following the martyrdom of one of the townspeople yesterday evening. The young men burned rubber tires and put down flares during their participation in the night confusion activities, amid calls from mosques for the townspeople to participate heavily in the events that have been going on for some 6 months, refusing to establish "Avitar" outpost on Beta's territory.

Yesterday evening, the town witnessed a series of resistance operations, ranging from gunfire, smoke bombs, the ignition of rubber tires, and the burning of an occupying military tower, in response to the martyrdom of  Jamil Abu Ayyash.
