Protest Steps for Prisoners in Occupation Prisons

Dec 18, 2021 10:20 am

In a statement, the Prisoner's Club said that prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons decided to initiate protest steps against the detention of two female prisoners in solitary confinement and the assault of one of the Jerusalemite prisoners by security elements in the prison.

The Prisoner's Club said that the prisoners' steps were to wear the dress of the Occupation Prison Administration, meaning that prisoners were prepared for any confrontation; they decided to close departments and reject so-called security checks; and to hold the Prison Administration responsible for any confrontation that might occur within prisons.

According to the statement, the prisoners gave the prison administration 24 hours to respond to their demand and to end the isolation of the prisoners.

The isolated prisoners are Shawab Dwaikat (24) and Merha Bakir (22), who have been detained since 2015 and sentenced to 16 years in prison.

The occupation holds 32 prisoners in its prisons, out of some 4550 in its prisons.
