Today marks the 13th anniversary of the Israeli occupation aggression against the Gaza Strip in 2008, which lasted 23 days. The resistance called it the "Battle of Al-Furqan" while the occupation called it "cast Lead."

In the morning of the first day, some 80 Israeli warplanes launched dozens of air strikes into the Gaza Strip in a short time, targeting residential neighborhoods, headquarters and security posts, killing more than 200 Palestinians, wounding more than 700 others in the first strike, as the final result of the 1436 number of martyrs and injuring more than 5400.

Islamic Jihad leader Khadr Habib said that the occupation had thought that it had been able to break the rigidigity of resistance during the 2008 aggression, but the resistance together with the Palestinian people, had stood up and failed all its plans, confirming that the power of the resistance grew up. That was confirmed in the following battles with the occupation, the last of which was Operation Al-Quds Sword
