Qatar Committee Signs MOU for the operation of Gaza's Gas Power Station

The Qatari Ambassador and Chairman of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, Mohammed Al-Emadi, said that the Committee signed a memorandum of understanding with the Power and Natural Resources Authority and the Gaza Power Generation Company, which included agreement on mechanisms for the supply and purchase of gas for the operation of the Gaza power Station.

 

The Qatari Committee will finance the construction of the gas station from the supplier to the Gaza Strip border, at a cost of $60 million, while the gas will be converted by the Gaza Power Company and the Power Authority as an alternative to fuel.

Amadi confirmed that it had been agreed to increase the production capacity of the gas station to a minimum of 500 megawatts to match the needs of citizens in the sector
