Jan 26, 2022 11:53 am

The Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs Commission reported in a statement that the number of prisoners infected with COVID19 increased to 72 prisoners in Ofer and Ishel prisons.

The statement warned of the outbreak of the virus and the increase of the number of prisoners infected with COVID19 amid the occupation’s uncertainty to deal with the aggravating medical situation in the prisons, reflecting the extent of the occupation’s ignorance of the prisoners’ lives. It also appealed to the International Committee of the Red Crescent and the World Health Organization to form specialized medical delegations to intensify their visits to the prisoners, check the numbers and their reality, and work on providing the needed medical care for the infected.
