The Arab League announced the adoption of May 11 of each year as the day of solidarity with the Palestinian media, as it is the day of the assassination of journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh.

The League said that it had completed all procedures and contacts in order to adopt the request of the State of Palestine submitted by the Ministry of Information for the adoption of this day as a solidarity day with the Palestinian media.

The Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Al-Khattabi, stressed that the League had circulated the request to all its missions, permanent delegations and related representatives in preparation for its adoption at the next session of the Arab Council of Ministers of Information
