Gideon Levy/ Haaretz (Adapted)
Please, do not disturb Israel, because it is fighting against the Iranian nuclear. This is a file taken by Israel as a pretext to gain worldwide sympathy again and distract the world from what is really happening in Palestine.
Yair Lapid acts just like Benjamin Netanyahu in his blatant and stubborn opposition to the Iran nuclear deal. The struggle of Israeli officials in fighting Iran has begun to turn into a goal that benefits Israel more than its primary goal. As much as Israel fights a state that threatens its existence, it benefits from the battle to remove the global opposition that has begun to spread against it because of its occupation of Palestine and its violations against the Palestinian people.
Since it began the struggle against the Iranian nuclear program, Israel has succeeded in turning the content of the global discourse upside down. After it had used to deal with conflict resolution and the two-state solution in any political meeting, it has now become completely abandoned, because there is a more important issue, which is the Iranian nuclear. So do not disturb Israel now with the International law, and apartheid. Don't you see that it is busy with Iran?
Iran enables Israel from returning to its favorable position, which is the position of the victim that there are always those who want to destroy it. So when a state threatens its existence, it cannot be disturbed with small matters about the occupation, settlers, and human rights.
During the past years, the Palestinian resistance, represented by hijacking planes and bombing buses, served Israel as it threatened its existence, but in a different way from the method of resistance now. Israel needs a new external threat to solve the global opposition to its policy; thus, Iran has appeared to help unify its internal ranks, and also helped it stay at the top of the international agenda. So, Israel knows how to take advantage of every threat.
Now what only remains is the hope that the agreement with Iran will not fall off the agenda, as it needs it as much as it needs oxygen.
