Defense Minister Benny Gantz is right in his decision to not return the body of the martyred prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid, who died in prison of cancer.

Gantz decided that the body should remain with the entity, so that it could be a pressure card used by the government to bargain for the return of Israeli soldiers captured by Hamas. There is no reason for the mercy on the family of the martyred Abo Hamid.

Abu Hamid, who is considered the right hand of Marwan Barghouti, was sentenced in 2002 for seven life imprisonment and 50 for resistance works. He is the one that announced Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade Organization, the military wing of Fatah. He was one of the symbols of the second intifada. If his body was used in the future as a card in one of the prisoner exchange deals, the Security Service will come out as wining in that. The analysis says that the decision of the defense minister in not handing over the body is because of the pressure from the families of Israeli soldiers held by Hamas.

Defense Minister Gantz seems to have chosen to put pressure on the Palestinian Authority at the end of his duties to satisfy the families of soldiers, who have long claimed that Israel is not doing enough to reach a prisoner exchange deal. Gentz has chosen to move the responsibility to his expected alternative as a defense minister, Yoav Galant, who would be difficult for him to take a different decision from that taken by Gantz.

The managers of negotiations with Hamas would find themselves obliged to give nothing less than what they take, according to Netanyahu's formula: "If they give, they will take and if they do not give, they will not take.".
