Yesterday, the Knesset Committee approved to push forward several laws in order to revoke citizenship or residence from any resistance fighter that obtained a reward from the Palestinian Authority for carrying out a fedayeen operation. It endorsed several projects filed by Knesset members of the Religious Zionism, Likud, Otzma Yehudit, Yehudit HaTorah and official camp.

Hanukh Melvetsky, a Knesset member, said in the session: "When we fight terrorism, we mush use means and tools that may affect certain rights. But what should we do else? We protect ourselves from deadly terrorism and I feel no need to justify myself because I am in a Jewish State which includes the best Jews.

Ahmed Al-Tibi, a member of the Knesset, said at the session that the proposal to withdraw citizenship was "a selective application against a national background, meaning that they only want to withdraw citizenship from Arabs. There are Jewish killers who indirectly obtain funds from the Government through right parties organizations ".

President of Tael wondered why it had not been proposed to eliminate the nationality of Yigal Amir, who killed Prime Minister Issac Rabin. "Has anyone been in the Knesset though to withdraw the citizenship of this Jewish killer since Rabin's murder? None of you had that in mind. Citizenship is a permanent nationality even if you are a serial killer and even if a woman is raped and severed ".

According to the law bills, a citizen or a resident of Israel who has agreed to receive money from the Palestinian Authority, directly or through a foreign entity, as a counterpart or reward for carrying out a resistance operation that poses threat to the security of the State, is like someone who gives up on his status as a citizen or resident.
