The decision of the Supreme Court of Justice to eliminate Aryeh Deri's chance of assuming the post of minister in the government of 'Israel' is like pouring oil on the flame of the sectarian division that has been burning here for more than 75 years.

These days, the flames of hatred and frustration have risen to alarming levels in the following of attacks on Deri, who is considered as one of the most important symbols and anchors of the Shas movement Established in 1982 as a Haredi-Safardi Party. His aim was to engage in elections for the Municipality of Al-Quds in order to strengthen Haredim-Safardim's position in the Municipal Council. Over time, he set up an independent education apparatus. In the 1999 elections, he peaked with 17 seats, becoming one of the clear right-wing parties.

Over the course of the road, there were a few ministers and deputies convicted of various accusations, including Deri, former Deputy Ofer Hoji; convicted of fraud and forgery, and Former Deputy Yair Berts; convicted of receiving something in fraud. In addition, Former Minister Rafael Benhasi, accused of an unlawful financial offence. Also, the Former Deputy Shlomo Diane; accused of fraud and forgery, Former Deputy Yair Levy; convicted of forgery and theft, and the Former Minister Shlomo Penzri; convicted of taking a bribe to betray the trust and obfuscate the trial proceedings.

These facts do not add honor and pride to the Shas party, which considers Israel's religion and tradition a candle that illuminates its footsteps. All those complainants to expunge Deri would have done well if they had looked well into their insides. I can only ask what Shas has done for its voters for about 30 years? So, it has been "Let's all look at his flaws."
