Even if the current political and social crisis that separates Israel and its citizens ends with accepted compromise, it will still leave a huge problem that doesn't appear to get any easier over time. The "country" we have known over the past 75 years will no longer exist.
The Israeli people were focused on their economic and security life for the first 20 years of Israel's existence. As the state developed and the level of living increased over time, we started to search for immediate success and lost our core ideals.
It is utterly false for anyone to believe that reality can be turned backwards while the environment is so volatile. With the huge breakdown in Israel, reaching an agreement on the question of judicial reform is incredibly difficult. Any wise person may see that the social and economic conditions that existed prior to the foundation of the current government would not recur, even with a compromise. The first losers will be Hardies, who were instrumental in forcing the reform in the judicial system that eliminated the Supreme Court's position. We won't win; we'll lose.
If this compromise is successfully implemented, a whole new lifestyle will exist in contrast to the one we have been accustomed to for many years. The fact that we haven't been a single society, as many had hoped, is what hurts the most about this situation.
