Interior Danger

Maariv – Adapted
Over the past 75 years, Israel has been under internal attack that poses an existential threat. The Haredi were essentially where this threat materialized. It is noteworthy to note that leaders of Shas and United Torah Judaism decided to divide the public into two groups: those who preserve and support Israel and those who learn Torah at the expense of others. They want to give the Haredi community autonomy and to subjugate the rest of society to this autonomy.

The legislative initiatives of the Haredi parties are represented to enacting a basic law includes: teaching the Torah and increasing the budget of educational institutions. These legislative measures aim to turn Israel from a Jewish entity into a religious one. It is well-known that the Haredi leadership resisted the creation of a Jewish and democratic Israel and that, throughout time, it has used the Jewish religion as an instrument of power. It rendered all those who disagree with it on matters of religion as illegitimate, and it makes us believe that teaching Torah must come at the expense of other principles like defending the entity or bearing an equal burden.

In order to have a single judicial system, we must eliminate the rabbinical courts, return the Chief Rabbinate to its original role as a spiritual organization, and halt all Sharia legislation in the Knesset.

To sum up, if we want to save Israel and the Jewish faith, we need to keep religion distinct from the entity.
