Maariv – Adapted

The Israeli entity was established to be a refuge for the survivors of the disaster. However, tragic facts have been revealed recently that make us think painfully about the moral standing of Israel.

According to recent facts, many of the survivors now live below the poverty line and suffer from isolation or health problems, making it difficult for them to seek treatment for financial reasons. According to these facts, 46 thousand survivors who live among us are poor, and the majority of the survivors require economic help other than the financial allocation they receive. How come Israel still allows its survivors to go hungry?

Deputy Meirav Cohen, head of the Disaster Survivors Committee, stated that while the Israeli government allocated hundreds of millions of shekels for the benefit of the survivors last year, it ignored the matter this year and did not include them in the budget. We urge that our government embrace the survivors warmly, and provide them with full aid so that they can live in luxury in their old age.
