The Hashim Sani Center for Palestine Studies at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital, today unveiled an exhibition called “Al-Nakba Commemoration” in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of the Al-Nakba. Friends of Palestine and Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) were co-partners in organizing the exhibition, which was funded by the PALM Strategic Initiative Center.

The exhibition featured four corners, which were attended by notable and respected Malaysians. The first corner was devoted to publishing dozens of photographs documenting the 1948 Palestinian Nakba and displacement, which were exhibited on a stereoscopic model of the apartheid wall. The second corner was dedicated to show Palestinian products and everything that represents the Palestinian cause, such as the kufiyya and wooden figures of Palestine's map.

The exhibition was designed to introduce university students to the trauma of the Palestinian people and their continued suffering as a result of the Israeli occupation. The students interacted with what they saw in the exhibition by writing messages of support and solidarity for the Palestinian people on a large board in the third corner of the exhibition. Moreover, they put their fingerprints on a model of the map of Palestine in the fourth corner, to confirm that this land is purely Palestinian.

The exhibition drew a great number of students, and it will be open for another two days to let as many as possible of them visit it.
