Maariv – Adapted
The danger and futile encounter between senior officials in the Israeli administration and American administration, led by Biden, will subject Israel to an existential threat.
As a survivor of the Yom Kippur War (October 1973), also known as the Ramadan War, I am acutely aware of the enormous contribution that Americans have made to our success in the West. Ammunition boxes for our tanks arrived in US packages just in time, directly from ships or aircraft, to address the severe lack of weapons. Clothes against fire were sent to the Israeli military instead of Israeli military clothes that burn easily. All of this was done without considering the American political influence in all international organizations, without which we would have been an ostracized "country" like South Africa in the past and Sudan today.
Anyone who believes that if things got escalated the Israeli society wouldn't be badly affected is mistaken. I want to share with you a story that Shimon Pierce once related to me. As a result of the spy Yuntan Pollard's disclosure, Pierce received a call from the US Secretary of State. It contains a subliminal threat that the US is thinking about cutting diplomatic ties with Israel. Pierce shared with me his concern for Israel's future if that threat came to pass.
Our leaders are committed to realizing that the electoral base's ingratiation, offending the Vice President, and psychoanalysis of the President all endanger our existence. As a result, tweets from the Israeli government should be carefully crafted, and one more tweet posted would be disastrous.
