The most dangerous scenario of all the benefits of resistance and operations is shootings committed by the resistance or by specific individuals. The benefit of the most recent resistance process suggests a more planned pattern of action for resistance members of a particular faction who do not work immediately.
It is possible that the decision to conduct the specific fedayeen operation in the Sha'ar Binyamin industrial zone, close to the settlement of Eli, rather than close to Jenin or Nablus, resulted from the perception that the Israeli army was more concerned with securing the major intersections, roads, and traffic hubs in the northern occupied West Bank.
Israelis' perception of their weakened security, the large number of fedayeen operations, and their terrible outcomes has risen since the year's beginning. The government and the Security Agency are thus subject to this vehement criticism. Harsh feelings are understandable, especially in light of recent events.
The choice of how to work is now a conundrum. Political voices are calling for a large-scale campaign. However, up until yesterday, officials in the Security Agency were far from endorsing such a strategy. They believe that it was justified to continue working with the advantages of incursions into Palestinian towns and villages when the Israeli army had unrestricted freedom of action. Some in the Israeli army see that there are flaws in the large-scale campaign that might escalate the situation. However, it is not unlikely that we will see any additional campaigns in resistance strongholds, primarily in Nablus and Jenin, anytime soon.
