Looking at the election rounds from 2019 to the present, it is clear that Netanyahu held onto the position of prime minister for nearly three years without a majority. Up to the very last moment, he tried to win over Knesset members from other extremist right-wing parties. He also made empty vows to instigate against opponents, notably the Palestinians living in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1948.
The primary message of Netanyahu's government was to paraphrase the secular public's agenda in Tel Aviv, which is commendable, but they neglected to consider the needs of other masses. For instance, when they boasted about the entity's strong economic situation, those from the lower classes were confused about which entity they were referring to.
Currently, the struggle movement against the regime coup is repeating history, as it turns out that the issue is related to Tel Aviv's protest, which ignores all other public voices. The Palestinians in the occupied territories in 1948 are experiencing a terrible wave of killings, and the suburban citizens are choked by the high cost of living, yet the government ignores all of this. Not only this, but the dramatic change that Smotrich brings about in the occupied West Bank.
Therefore, it needs to be said quietly to the protest organizers: don't follow Netanyahu's government. Tel Aviv alone will not bring salvation. Thus, without the suburbs and the Palestinians of the occupied territories, as well as the suppression of the riots in the occupied territories and their allies in the government, one cannot win. If it happens that they win in the elections, it will be a temporary win, which will be used to move further to another more aggressive and less democratic far-right government.
