US Administration is Concerned

Jul 21, 2023 12:33 pm

The Israeli broadcasting corporation "Makan" mentioned, through the Israeli occupation's Prime Minister Herzog, that "the US administration fears that changing the reasonability clause will not be the last thing."

The broadcasting corporation reported that Benjamin Netanyahu is consulting with some of his close associates in an effort to soften the wording of the bill aimed at reducing the reasonability clause. Academics are also participating in these contacts, hoping to persuade the leader of the "State Camp" party, Benny Gantz, to agree on a last-minute compromise.

Among the options proposed is to limit the reasonability clause in a way that government decisions are protected from any judicial criticism using this clause, whereas decisions made by individual ministers remain subject to it.
