Introduction

Armed clashes flared up inside the Ein Hilwa Camp for Palestinian Refugees on July 29, 2023. Besides the fact that 12 citizens were martyred and 60 others were injured, a number of Palestinians were forcibly displaced. Although Palestinian and Lebanese members of the Hamas Movement intervened, a ceasefire was achieved and an investigation committee was established, the ceasefire is periodically violated and confrontations renew. In this piece of analysis, we try to identify the causes of the issue in the camp specifically and in the Palestinian camps within Lebanon generally.
