France is leading a major and significant diplomatic campaign to persuade Western countries to recognize the State of Palestine, with the goal of announcing this recognition during the peace conference being planned by President Emmanuel Macron in coordination with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The conference is scheduled to be held at the United Nations on June 17, where France hopes that several European countries will join the initiative, including Belgium, Portugal, and Luxembourg.
