Former EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, criticized the bloc’s foreign ministers for their failure to hold Israel accountable for human rights violations in Gaza.

Borrell accused the European Union of failing to act on Israel’s violations of the human rights clause in the EU-Israel Association Agreement, saying: “Europe has decided not to punish Israel for ongoing war crimes and is allowing the genocide in Gaza to continue unabated.”
