Several demonstrations were held in more than one country across South and Southeast Asia, in solidarity with Gaza and condemning Israel’s genocide against it.
These simultaneous protests took place for the first time in Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Maldives, the Philippines, and Indonesia, as part of a global popular movement against the genocide, calling for the lifting of the blockade on the Gaza Strip. The movement has been named the "Global Convoy of Steadfastness."
Malaysian activist and one of the organizers, Muhammad Al-Nouri, said that the Steadfastness Marches will continue in various Asian cities, with the largest one scheduled for next Saturday in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, with the participation of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
