Dec 06, 2020 10:37 am

Dr. Ali Abdrabbu, Director General at the Ministry of Health, stated that the National Epidemiological Committee submitted its recommendations to the Ministerial Council and the Supreme Emergency Committee in the West Bank declaring the necessity of announcing a complete lock-down for two weeks to limit the spread of the Coronavirus. Abdrabbu said in an interview with the local Al-Quds newspaper that what they submitted was just a recommendation; the decision is made by the Council and the Emergency Committee. He said that the Ministry of Health and the National Epidemiological Committee submitted the recommendation out of national duty and medically-based information. According to the Ministry of Health’s website, the number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic (including the West Bank, Al-Quds and the Gaza Strip) reached 109,702 cases: 83,839 were cured and 905 died. The current active cases are 24,958.
