Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, the Grand Mufti of Al-Quds, told Shehab News Agency the adoption of some extreme Zionist groups a plan that aims to destroy the Dome of the Rock. He said the news was leaked by the Israeli outlets to see the reactions of the people of Al-Quds, Arabs and Muslims.

Sheikh Sabri said that PM Benjamin Netanyahu is the one who gives the greenlight, immunity and privileges to these extremists because he needs them to stay in office. 

The Sheikh said that the extremists make use of the allegation that the alleged Haykal is under the Dome of the Rock in order to move forward with the demolition plan.

He stressed that the people of Al-Quds are going to stand to up to such scheme, as they had already done with previous Zionist plans that targeted Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa (Bab Al-Rahma in 2019 and the electronic gates in 2017 are the most recent examples).

Sheikh Sabri urged the Arab and Islamic nation to shoulder their responsibility towards Al-Quds and Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa, and to make more efforts to financially and spiritually support the murabiteen in the city and Al-Masjid in order to topple the occupation’s schemes targeting them.
