Peter Stano, EU’s Lead Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, urged the Israeli occupation to stop establishing the settlements in the West Bank in response to the occupation’s announcement of new construction work. He also urged the occupation to focus on resuming dialogue instead.

He stressed that the EU’s position on the settlements is the same. The EU sees the settlements as illegal in accordance with the International Law. They hinder the peace process, the two-state solution and the ability to build trust between the two parties.
