Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper revealed in a report translated by Shehab News Agency secret communications between Deputy Minister Fateen Mulla, who is close to PM Benjamin Netanyahu, and the PA.

According to the newspaper, the secret communications revolved around Palestinian Authority support for Netanyahu in the upcoming ‘Israeli’ Knesset elections through encouraging the Palestinians of the occupied lands in 1948 to vote for the Likud Party, headed by Netanyahu, and not to vote for the joint Arab list. Talks between them were suspended, however, for unknown reasons.

Fateen added that the reason behind such communications was the PA’s concerns over the powerful positions of the rightists Gideon Sa’ar and Naftali Bennett.

Gideon Sa'ar, New Hope party leader, said that what happened was a degradation for Likud and its leader Netanyahu, who preferred personal interests at the expense of national interests.
