Fakhri Abu Diab, specialist in Al-Quds affairs, told Safa Agency that the so-called Ministry of Interior approved the amendments offered by the occupation’s municipality for the construction of 930 settlement units on Palestinian lands which were confiscated earlier. The aim is to expand Pisgat Ze'ev settlement in north-east Al-Quds, which is the largest settlement outpost in Al-Quds.
Abu Diab said that the occupation is working on a project that is meant to surround Al-Quds. The first stage begins with Qalandia airport in the north, Nabi Yacoub settlement and E1 area and Ma'ale Adumim in the east. It will also surround Jabal Abu Ghunim and Gilo in the south.
The occupation aims to surround Al-Quds and the Old Town with one belt of settlements and settlers to reinforce the Jewish presence in the city and seize it completely.
