US Candidate Running for Governor Attacks Occupation

Mar 19, 2021 01:00 pm

Lee Carter, member of the Virginia House of Delegate and governor candidate, attacked the ‘Israeli’ occupation for its ongoing violations of the Palestinian people’s rights and declared his support to BDS in a video-conference debate on becoming Virginia’s next governor.

Carter said that the human rights violations that the Palestinian people currently suffer from are the worst worldwide. He also condemned Virginia Israel Advisory Board, a governmental agency that helps ‘Israeli’ corporates expand and increase their operations in the USA through Virginia. He opposed the presence of such agencies and their work with the entity of ‘Israel’ that practices a military occupation of an imprisoned people.

For a US governor to make such statements is considered a first. Activists in the Palestinian and Arab communities called on showing support to Carter and voting for him in the coming elections.
