Alaa Hmedan, spokesperson of Hamas list Al-Quds Our Destination, stated that the occupation tried to influence the results of the Palestinian elections beforehand through arresting members of the list.

Hmedan added that arresting Najeh Assi, the coordinator of the list, from his home in Ramallah and assaulting him showed the occupation’s barbarity and terrorism

He insisted on continuing the democratic process and holding elections on time and stressed that the continued arrest campaigns would not break the Palestinian’s determination.

He also called on the guarantor and EU States to intervene to stop these attacks and to protect the democratic track.
