Knesset Members: Cabinet's Decision Brings Shame to Entity

May 21, 2021 02:57 pm

Yedioth Ahronoth reported some Knesset members' criticism of the ceasefire decision with the Gaza Strip. New Right Knesset party member Ayelet Shaked said that unconditioned ceasefire is embarrassing, and the captured soldiers should have been returned as a condition for ceasefire.

Gideon Sa'ar, New Hope leader, said that such agreement brings shame to the entity.  Etmar Bin Ghafir, Knesset member representing Religious Zionism, commented on the agreement and said that such shameful ceasefire is like surrendering to Hamas, and left the occupation and Israeli deterrence with a difficult night to spend.

Israeli politicians and commentators expressed their trust in Hamas' statements on the ceasefire and lack of trust in PM Netanyahu's and Benny Gantz'.

Bezalel Smotrich, leader of Religious Zionism, tweeted that he had listened to political sources that denied Hamas' confirmation of having a ceasefire in exchange for Israeli retreat in Al-Quds. If such claims are correct, he expects to see Al-Aqsa open the next morning for Jews, and that anything else would prove Hamas telling the truth and their politicians' lies.
