Zuheir Al-Rijbi, Chairman of Defense Committee of Batin Al-Hawa Lands in Silwan, said that dozens of citizens protested against the displacement of the neighborhood residents and their replacement with settlers.

Al-Rijbi asked the people of Silwan to take part in the strike before the so-called Central Court in Al-Quds. The court will hold a hearing to review the displacement order. Activists on social media started using #SaveSilwan hashtag calling for support.

The residents of the neighborhood have been facing the risks of displacement since the so-called Supreme Court allowed the expulsion of 800 Palestinians claiming that the lands were owned by Jews before the 1948 war.
