The national powers and Al-Taibe City Hall urged the families to resist the plan to construct Street 444 and expand and develop Street 553. The scheme is to confiscate hundreds of donums from Al-Taibe lands in the western side of the city in the occupied lands of 1948.
They also called for a popular stand against the confiscation since the western area had already lost vast areas for different schemes.
Al-Taibe lost hundreds of donums for settlement schemes the past years.
The City Hall confirmed its opposition to the plan which contradicts the claims of the so-called Planning Committee that the area is a natural reserve, which means expansion is banned there.
