Importance of Bennett's Visit to White House

Amos Gilead, Executive Director of IDC Herzliya’s Institute for Policy and Strategy, said in an article on Yedioth Ahronoth that PM Naftali Bennett's visit to Washington was important for several reasons, namely the 'Iranian threat'.

He stressed that Netanyahu's government failed to stop Iran from having the nuclear military option, and that the USA is interested in resuming the nuclear deal with Iran which if happens, the occupation would not be able to strategically and politically militarily attack the Iranian nuclear project.

Gilead also said that to achieve a strategic goal regarding Tehran, the PM has to take more steps to reinforce trust and understanding with Washington, improve political-strategic relations with Jordan (since Biden's Administration tends to admit Jordan's contribution to the stability of the Middle East), and speak with President Mahmoud Abbas to improve relations with the PA before travelling to Washington to ensure the continuation of security coordination.

Gilead sees the second reason as the entity's position in the US' policy towards China. Bennett should give Biden's Administration guarantees that the entity would be part of the international powers led by the USA in standing up to the challenges China poses to national security.
