Within the framework of gaining benefit from Malaysia' experience to upgrade the Palestinian society, the Malaysian Cultural Centre in cooperation with the PALM Strategic Initiative Centre/ Palestine-Malaysia held a seminar entitled "Malaysia's Renaissance" in Al-Israa University in Gaza.

More than 50 female and male students from different undergraduate majors attended the seminar, where Dr. Ibrahim Al-Zaeem, the director of PALM Strategic Initiative Centre, spoke about the history of Malaysia, its three races, and the reasons behind its renaissance.

Al-Zaeem said that Malaysia's renaissance, after its independence in 1957, was because of its deep concerns about education. He also noted that it exerted a lot of efforts to improve its educational curriculums, schools, and universities as they are the key to upgrade other fields.

Moreover, he said that Malaysia focused on developing the economic, agricultural, and tourism fields all of which contributed to upgrading Malaysia to be later categorized as one of the developed countries even though it had been under the British economy for many long years.

Al-Zaeem also emphasized the importance of benefiting from the Malaysia's experience and applying it to the Palestinian situation to promote all fields in a planned manner that suits the conditions of the Palestinian issue.

Furthermore, Shadi Salem, the director of the Cultural Centre, talked about Malaysia' significant role in supporting the Palestinian issue, and standing beside the Palestinian people to help them restore their rights and establish their independent state.
