Soon Guardian of Walls 2

Haaretz – Opening article

The State of Israel walks with open eyes towards the "Guardian of the Walls 2", and there is no responsible adult stopping the disaster; neither in the political leadership nor in the executive leadership.

The Minister of Internal Security Omer Bar-Lev decided last week that the March of Flags - which will take place in Al-Quds on Sunday – this year will pass through Al-Amud door and the Islamic neighborhood. The police will impose restrictions on Muslims living in the Old City.

Police Inspector General Kobi Shabtai and the Commander of the Jerusalem District police Doron Yedid should have explained to the responsible Minister and Government that this is a serious provocation of the Palestinians at a sensitive time and in the most violet places in the world. Instead, however, they share the nationalistic absurdity of political leadership.

The head of Hamas' political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, warned against the repercussions of conducting the march. He called on "the Palestinian people to be at the height of preparedness to prevent aggression in Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa" and, he stressed that the "Palestinian resistance forces" will not allow the march to take place.

It's embarrassing to think that in the Ministry of Homeland Security the left wing delegate sits in the Government of Change. It seems that the attempt of the left-wing ministers in the government to prove their right-wing and to embrace the public that will never elect has led them to lose what is left of their dignity.

Even former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spent the past year, albeit late, not passing the march of flags in Bab Al-Amud. Is that what we are missing now in Al-Quds when the Palestinians try to hold their breath after the traumatic events at the funeral of journalist Shireen Abu Aqla?

If Bar-Lev does not see the calamity that leads to (Israel), it should be hoped that Prime Minister Naftali Bennett wakes up and orders him to change his decision and stop this madness, in the interest of the citizens of (Israel).
