The Israeli occupation army conducted a surprising military exercise in the occupied Palestinian Negev, simulating a war in the Gaza Strip.

According to Israel's Channel 11, the Southern Command conducted a manoeuvre at the military base of Tsalim in the occupied Negev that mimicked a ground battle in the Gaza Strip, where the sophisticated soldier carriers and Markava tanks were used for training.

The manoeuvring leader said that the manoeuvre came surprisingly, suggesting that the war in the Strip could be occur suddenly and without prior warning.
