After Netanyahu's former government policy- in addition to extra external actions- marginalized the Palestinian cause during the last decade, the Palestinian Authority Chairman, Abu Mazen (Mahmud Abass) and his men have recently returned to put it on the table again.

The head of the Jerusalem Center for Public and Political affairs, and the former Director-general of the Zionist Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Dore Gold, said: “The Palestinian National Authority's relations with Europe and the European Union improved. As well as with some Islamic and Arab Countries, even with Russia and its allies, but the United Nations remained a harsh challenge to the authority. If I were in its shoes and I had to move against Israel in the international scene, I would rather have concentrated on the capabilities of the initiatives in United Nations.” This is exactly what Palestinians and their supporters are trying to do recently. The first warning sign for these efforts was in the end of May 2021; when the Human Rights counsel established a “committee on an independent permanent international investigation committee” against Israel. The goal of the authority was twofold: sticking the Apartheid image to Israel and transfer the results to the International Criminal Court.

Another danger is threatening Israel; as the representatives of the Palestinian Authority are trying_ for the first time since 2011_ to apply for recognition of the Palestinian Authority as a full member of the United Nations. To achieve this, Palestinians need 9 votes out of 15 members of the Security Council in the United Nations. As long as none of the permanent members of the Council uses the veto on the resolution, if achieved.

In 2011, Netanyahu's extremist right-wing government kept the Palestinian Authority from obtaining the membership, but now as there is no longer right-wing existence, so the authority's chance is much greater.

Yossi Coppervasser, the Brigadier General (Reverse), and the former head of the researches department of the Military Intelligence Directorate says: “If the Palestinians wouldn't succeed in the United Nations, then they would ask for compensation, and will find sympathetic ears in the US administration. Americans used to ask Israel for all kinds of proceedings to urge the Palestinian Authority to calm the situation down. This is the American policy to compensate the Palestinian for being marginalized from the center of the political stage.”
