The security agency fears that the continued blocking in Nablus, which prevents entering and going out, would lead to an escalation in the confrontations in the city. This will also affect the security situation in all parts of the occupied West Bank.

Security agencies said that some conversations between the military and political levels, are being held to discuss the necessity of removing the blocks. However, there is difficulty in doing so, as they are, in both, the army and the Israeli Mossad don't see that this closing helped in declining the operations, or killed the spirit of the Lions' Den group for more activities.

Two weeks ago, the Israeli occupation closed the exits of the city. Based on a military estimation that the majority of the executors of the operations went out and returned from these exits. Since then, it is not permitted to enter or exit the city except through these security-checked point.

A security source told Haaretz newspaper that the estimations indicate that, till now, there has been no decline in the activities of the Lions' Den group, despite the procedures taken against remarkable activists from the group. Furthermore, the group's popularity, which is widespread in the West Bank, has not declined. Security officials also stated that closing borders would increase confrontations throughout the West Bank, causing Palestinian civilians who had not previously participated in such activities to do so.

According to sources familiar with the situation, there is a sense that the Palestinian Authority and its agencies in Nablus are working hard, but not as hard as Israel wishes.

On the other hand, the army and police are preparing for settlers' attempts to provoke provocations in the last week before the elections, at sensitive points in the West Bank, which could lead to an increase in tension with the Palestinians, which is already reaching the peak.
