The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated that the Israeli plan to fully occupy Gaza City would have a devastating humanitarian impact on Palestinians already deprived of life’s essentials.

In a statement, OCHA in the occupied Palestinian territory explained that “around 86% of the Gaza Strip is under evacuation orders or within areas of Israeli military control. The remaining areas are overcrowded and ill-equipped to sustain people on a wide scale.”

It stressed that “Israel’s plan to intensify military operations in Gaza City would have a catastrophic humanitarian impact on a population already suffering from exhaustion, malnutrition, loss, displacement, and the denial of basic necessities for survival.”
