The United Nations confirmed that the Israeli occupation had refused to issue entry visas to newly recruited crews to the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) of the occupied Palestinian territory in the coming months.
20 international staff working in "OCHA", who monitor and document violations of the occupation, were denied visas in Palestine.
The UN spokesperson said that this had affected the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs' work in planning for the 2023 humanitarian response.
The Permanent Representative of Israel to the United Nations, Gilad Ardan, had acknowledged the existence "of a system of sanctions in Tel Aviv against United Nations personnel critical of Israeli policy.
