The Human Centre for Democracy and Rights (HCDR) warned that the accelerating settlement expansion in the occupied Palestinian territories poses threat to the geography of the land and location, as well as warned of the occupation's pursuit to carry out settlement projects and schemes.
The Centre expressed concern about the size of settlement projects during the past year 2022. According to the Settlement Research Institute, approximately 12,943 settlement units in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem were granted building permits, while 901 homes and facilities were demolished.
The Centre's statement stated that dozens of military orders had been issued to expand the influence of settlements, build bridges and build roads to connect Israeli settlements with each other, tripling the influence of settlements as the percentage roze from 3.1% from the West Bank area to (9.1%), and spread of approximately (20) pastoral outposts. The occupation aims to change the geography of the place by controlling the widest possible area of Palestinian lands and displacing them from their villages and cities
