Israeli officials attacked the Israeli government headed by Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to Israeli broadcaster ''Cannes'', the former Israeli minister Moshe Yaalon said: "What Netanyahu is doing is not a legal reform, but a coup. Netanyahu wants control of the judiciary."
In the same context, Oded Forer, knesset member, stated that "the State, in which the head of the executive power controls both the legislative and the judicial authority, is not a democratic State", adding: "Netanyahu's government aims to destroy the power of the law."
