Israeli Ambassador to Canada Ronen Hoffman decided to resign from his position in protest against the new Israeli government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu.
Hoffman, who was appointed to the position by former Prime Minister Yair Lapid, said in a tweet: "With the transition to the new government, and the different politics in Israel, my personal and professional integrity requires me to shorten my control period and step down."
Hoffman is the second ambassador who resigned against the backdrop, as the Israeli Ambassador to France recently announced her resignation from her position.
