Since the beginning of the year, there have been more violent attacks and vandalism against Christian properties and institutions in Al-Quds. The priests of the Church connect this transgression to the atmosphere prevailing in Al-Quds in light of the current new government. Many also consider the Israeli police to be nonchalant toward the situation.

On the 2nd of January this year, two colonial settlers wreaked havoc on the Protestant Cemetery in Jabal Sohyoon, also known as Mount Zion. As a result, 30 headstones were damaged. After 10 days, they wrote, with sprays, insults on the walls of Armenian Dier, in the Old City. Moreover, colonial settlers assaulted Christian young men in Al-Armenian neighborhoods in Al-Quds, among many other assaults.

The Custos of the Christian Holy Places in Al-Quds, Father Francesco Patton, stated: "It's not a coincidence that all of these deadly actions take place at this same time. We urge the Israeli government and law enforcement to take decisive measures to put an end to such behaviors.

Christian researcher Yiska Harani said that there has been a surge in both numbers and daring. If they were secretly spitting on Christians, they now do it in full view.

In response, the Israeli police stated: "The Israeli police dealt with most of the mentioned actions swiftly and severely. To ensure that various religions and denominations might practice their respective forms of worship freely, a large number of policemen were chosen for protection and to oversee missions. We shall keep fighting the criminals up until the time comes when the law will apply to them.
